Speaking from personal experience … this happens. Not all the time, but it does. Especially when you get a knucklehead who thinks he can drive anything on wheels.

I think the only places we had AC was the squadron HQ trailer and the USO club. Our hootches were screen walls with tin roofs and we worked in the bomb dump. The closest thing to a computer was a typewriter.
