Those were the days, sliding your tray through the chow line. Having those caring folks behind the counter asking you how you wanted your food cooked. I remember being on night shift in the bomb dump and we’d come in for midnight chow … those guys always gave you extra helpings!

I remember gaining 10 pounds the first few months in the military from those chow halls even with all the physical exercise. Never ate so much s.o.s. I still love that stuff and make it at home now and again.
Ewwwww … I never ate the stuff, coud never bring myself to trying it. Got a note from Ralph talking about grits … never ate them either!!! Guess I’m just a bagel and cream cheese guy.
