281. Likes Night Missions

First the Batman appeared in an Air Force cartoon, now an Army one. What’s up with this guy? He’s one heck of a motivated super hero. We’ll have to see if he can do something in the other services in the future. We need Navy, USMC and USCG ones, so if you can come up with some funny scenarios, let me know at shepart@aol.com!

Thanks again for stopping by and have a great and safe weekend!

And … if you haven’t gotten your book yet, please go to www.lulu.com/product/paperback/incoming/17344582 and get yourself one! The holidays are right around the corner … what a great gift!!!

  1. Oh, you can write a book about the Black Cats and PT Boats nightime patrols in the Pacific. The SBD and PBYs were often in on the missions. Much of this before radar. I have stories of all sorts of characters and incidents, and as I read them, I can imagine even more. The WWII Pacific was a Batman breeding ground, because it required so much intuition and quick reflex, and often with a lot of other various craft hanging around not knowing what “Batman” was doing.

Hey, have you heard of Washing Machine “aka “Pi_s-Call” Charlie? Now there’s Batman’s prototype. I wonder how many folks are left who would get a “Washing Machine Charlie” joke . . .
