Ahh … the style that just keeps on giving. Maybe the First Shirt wouldn’t have a problem with the look if the draws were a desert camo color! I really can’t spend too much time on this look, it just disgusts me. But it did give me the opportunity to ridicule it, always a good thing.
Have a great weekend, folks! Stay safe …
I have actually seen soldiers wearing their ACUs way too low. Fortunately such behavior was corrected well below 1SG level.
On a side note. Why do you draw personnel wearing old uniforms as well as current ones?
Hey Wondered Why … first off, thanks for visiting the site. As far as the uniforms are concerned, I don’t strive for real world accuracy at all times. My priority is the gag or point I’m trying to make. If I can incorporate acciracy then all the better.
I can understand that, there is something timeless with the way people in the military relate to each other. PVTs will often act like they did in civilian life, SGTs will often take out their frustration on privates while CSMs get to lord it over both SGTs and LTs.
Nothing is taken away from the humor, it just seemed a a little odd for a current strip to use old uniforms.
As for your message, I did spend a little time in the Navy (just a little training before switching) and then went National Guard. The result is a profound sense of culture shock (I went from hearing “Fix your ———– gigline” to “Untuck your ———- shirt” while in civies”) but a better understanding of military life.
Number 67 seems to speak to me for some unimaginable reason.
Good work!
Pants on tha’ ground! Pants on tha’ ground! Look like a foo’ wit’cho pants on tha’ ground!
Yeah, I certainly would not’ve tolerated that. Well done, Shep! 🙂
